UC Berkeley Bootcamp Sharing - Alfred Tsui & Sally Wong

By Alfred Tsui, Senior year student:

"This August, we got the opportunity to participate in a five-day Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in the University of California, Berkeley. There were total 12 students from different majors representing HKBU to compete with other students from 13 countries including US, Taiwan, Brazil, Australia, Chile and others.

We had attended lots of lectures and seminars about methods of entrepreneurship in UC Berkeley, so as to sharpen our original business idea and even create a new one through those insights within these five days. It was a harsh mission due to the tight schedule. Although time was so tight, we had visited Fisherman Wharf and Golden Gate Bridge in our free time.

In this Bootcamp, we did not only gain new knowledge but also had expanded our network for which is so important to HRM students. If you also want to get a free ticket to go to America, don’t miss the next Entrepreneurship Bootcamp which will be held by Knowledge Transfer Office, HKBU in the coming May!!"

“This summer holiday, Alfred and I had gone University of California, Berkeley to join an Entrepreneurship Bootcamp. It was a precious chance to be one of the representatives of HKBU to experience the exposure of the other country.

During the Bootcamp, I’ve learnt lots of things about how to be a successful entrepreneur through different seminars and conversations with mentors. This was a good opportunity to train up my listening and communication skills. Also, this Bootcamp helped me to expand my networking. Thanks HKBU to provide this opportunity for us.”
